On March 14, 2012, Siam Commercial Bank, one of the leading retail banks in Thailand, has kindly visited BBA Thammasat to provide an information session about SCB’s financial management trainee program. This year is the 4th year that SCB offer this program to the newly graduate students.

Financial Management Trainee Program offers structured rotations and training for recent graduates, aimed at producing future leaders. The interesting part of the program that is different from normal full-time job is that it allows the trainee to be rotated to work with six divisions within period of two years. These will give trainee a chance to find what position suits them the most.

There are six divisions under SCB Financial group that allow trainees to rotate to which consists of (1)Financial management system, (2)Financial reporting control, (3)MIS & Client service, (4)Investor relation division, (5)Equity investment management division, and (6)Balance sheet and monitoring division. During the program, SCB will assign mentor to take care of each trainee. Moreover, trainee will have a chance to participate in both on the job training and classroom training. After 2 year, their performance will be evaluated in order to assign them to the division that most suitable with their talent. An accelerated roadmap will equip trainees with the skills and knowledge to start their career at management level. The program itself is looking for the open-minded candidates who love to try and learn new things, and fit with the company’s culture.

The process of selection starts with considering the applicants’ resume. Then, the applicants will have to take a multiple choice test in 3 subjects including English, Math and intelligent. After that, the applicants will go through 2 rounds of interview which will be held on the same day.

SCB staffs have shared their viewpoint regarding the profession and give a neutral glimpse on the differences between this program and the normal full-time job which are very helpful for us as a 4th year student who start looking for a job. Thanks to BBA office and Siam Commercial Bank for this great opportunities.
