What does it take to be a case team member?

As national representative from ThailandRavisara Grover, Poomrata Wangpreedalertkul, Siwawong Wongsophanakul, and I, Pakapol Thangtongchin had high expectation for this competition. It has been well over a few months that we practiced using real case studies, optimized our process, and received coaching by both TU advisors and HSBC management team. All of these, to make sure that we gave it our best performance.

HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Competition 2016 was held during June 1-3 2016 in Hong Kong. In this competition, 24 teams around the world were invited to compete (after compete should have objective). There were 4 rounds of competition, each round we were given 2.5 hours to analyze the case and present our solution to a panel of honorable judges.

Due to the time pressure, high expectations and tough judges, our teamwork was tested. It was simply because of our sheer determination and teamwork that allowed us to go through rounds and rounds into the competition. Finally, we made it to the Final round.

In the final round, we were given the case of “Uniqluo” where the case focuses on supply chain management. Given our best performance, we finally emerged as the 1st runner-up for the HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Competition 2016

So what does it take to be a case team member? It comes down to Teamwork and Dedication. To strive in a competition, you need to function as a team, and commit towards a common goal. Pour your heart and soul in delivering the best of your ability. It will be a long tiring journey but at the end of it all, this is why the experience felt so rewarding.

On this final note, none of this would have happened without the support from our advisors. You are the backbone of our every success and we are extremely thankful for that. Thank you Ajarn Supawat, Ajarn Worapong, Ajarn Orapan, and Ajarn Nopporn for your support. We owe just about everything to you.
