A field trip to visit securities companies and financial institutions is part of Financial Institution Management class offered in BBA Program. It is an opportunity for students to explore more on how the concept we learned in class can be applied in reality.
In this year, we went to Maybank Kim Eng Securities, which is the securities company that has a highest market share in brokerage business. Maybank Kim Eng office is on the 19th to 21st floor of Office Tower Central World. As soon as we enter into the office, the staffs welcome us warmly and bring us to a computer room. In the first session, we had a chance to listen to Maybank Kim Eng staffs who shared about their experience, stock analysis, stock valuation, work life in securities industry, and much more. In session two, we had a chance to visit a trading room, in which investors can see the movement in price of all stocks listed in the Stock Exchange of Thailand, and witness the buy/sell order sending process.
I have to thank BBA program for always support learning outside of classroom. I believe this field trip is very beneficial for us all. This is, for us, the valuable experience. We learned more about how professional could apply the theory in text books in the real world, in which there is nothing certain and no one absolute solution can be used to solve a problem.
