Over the previous week, we, “The Marcus Consulting”, had the opportunity to represent Thammasat University in the Australian Undergraduate Case Competition (AUBCC) 2017. Our team is comprised of four members including Wichayut Woodtikarn (Analyst), Supicha Chotejarataporn (Strategist), Pavin Vatanavolaluk (Strategist), and myself, Pattarin Chulavalaivong (Finance), along with our advisor, Ajarn Nopporn Ruangwanit. For this year’s format, we were required to crack 3 cases in total, of which the first two cases were 4 hours and the last one was 12 hours long. The first case topic was on Australia’s healthy food restaurant called “Thrive, second one on Spectravest investment options, and last one on Suncorp Insurance Company. As exciting as this may sound, it was an intense, jam packed, and emotionally tolling week. However, we were grateful to have learned and grow so much in confidence in such a short period of time. During the case cracking period, we’ve learned that strong teamwork and passionate spirits were the key factors that contribute to our performance.

Further, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere gratitude to the following people: First and foremost, all of the advisors and professors for their coaching and guidance throughout the past semester. Secondly, we would like to thank Ajarn Nopporn Ruangwanit, our cool advisor. Last but not least, we are truly grateful to the BBA Thammasat Program for their ongoing support in this case activity throughout the years.  This experience allowed us to learn from international students, professionals, and among ourselves. Even though we didn’t make it to the finals, we truly believe that this invaluable experience has taught us the importance of cultivating outside the box and brought a new meaning to case competitions as have grown professionally. We walked away not only with new friends from around the globe, but also a new understanding of my capabilities. Thankyou AUBCC!
