“It has been a long journey but a worthwhile one.”
CIMA Global Business Challenge is a unique business case competition. To begin with, CIMA itself is a UK-based professional institution offering training and qualification in management accountancy with the largest management accounting body in the world in 173 countries. Thereby, this competition is considered to be one of the most competitive and prestigious global business case competitions. Our team composes of Poomrata Wangpreedalertkul, Ravisara Grover, Siwawong Wongsophanakul and Soravut Sunchindah. All are from BBA #22.
Now, what is really unique is the nature of the case itself and how we approach it. Unlike any other cases, this one tends to be more of high-level management and operation with strong emphasis on ethics. This year, the case is an oil and gas company with core competencies in upstream business. Given the nature of this industry, we knew that it was going to be a tough ride. We had 3 months to craft solid strategies with robust financial plans to address key strategic challenges the company is facing. Our findings would later on be judged by CIMA professionals. With the time spreading across a long period, teamwork becomes a lifeblood. Commitment, perseverance and determination could not be more important.

As we were shortlisted to the country final, we knew that the real job had just begun as BBA Thammasat had won this competition for 2 consecutive years, consistently representing Thailand in the global final. When the big day arrived, we have delivered our best performance to the panel of judges from leading banks and corporates in Thailand, reflecting every bit of “BBA Thammasat Quality”.  And as you may have known, the rest was history.
Most importantly, all of this would not have happened without the tremendous supports from Ajarn Supawat Likittanawong, Ajarn Worapong Janyangyuen and all the advisors. Thank you for being patient and for taking your time in giving us invaluable advices and critical feedbacks that have led us to be here. It requires a strong commitment along the way from the beginning to the very end.  For us, The Beast, we consider winning national stage as a beginning of our journey. Now we are aiming higher for the global final. “The road continues.”
